You found your dream home, you made an offer and now it’s under contract. What happens next? There is still a lot of work to be done, but no worries your broker is taking care of it. You will start to see a lot of documents coming through that you need to sign before you go to closing. Your broker will be sending these to you and it’s important to get them signed, but also understand them. If you have questions don’t hesitate to reach out.
Make sure to have your homeowners insurance set up before closing. Lenders usually require that you have this and when you go to closing you will want to have proof of insurance.
What you should bring to your closing.
- Government issued photo ID (i.e., Driver’s license or passport)
- Certified Cashier’s Check or proof of wire being sent.
- Closing disclosure so you can compare to the closing documents.
- Proof of homeowners insurance.
At closing you will sign more paper than you ever thought and then you get to enjoy your new home!
